MEET YOUR COACH

I’m Jen Shaw. I’ve held executive creative leadership roles in the apparel industry for over 30 years at incredible brands like Levi’s and Ariat. The teams I’ve been honored to lead consist of highly talented people and together we’ve created products we’re proud of. Many of those products have turned into multi-million dollar lines, and many of those people are the most successful creatives in their industry. I’ve stepped into higher leadership roles multiple times over the last decade, and the teams around me are thriving, creative, consistent, and collaborative.

I’ve climbed the corporate ladder as a creative, and more often than not, have thrived in the corporate world. Together with these same teams, we’ve successfully navigated working inside and outside of the corporate rules. I’ve learned how to question the status quo, and given myself and my team the opportunity to reinvent it. I’ve learned that confidence and leadership are the result of, not a requirement for, using my creative voice. My curiosity about the depth of my own resilience, courage to face a challenge, and ability to dig deep have kept me in a consistent pattern of hack-free growth.

Along the way I’ve faced challenges. I’ve experienced loneliness, failure, creative blocks, burnout, and crippling self-doubt. I’ve been through both sides of layoffs, struggled physically, worked with heart-pounding anxiety, and lost loved ones and friends. I’ve been lucky to work alongside, lead, and coach people who have experienced the same. And in the face of those experiences, we keep going forward.

I’m an extroverted introvert who enjoys scribbling, re-inventing the idea of style, learning how to get better at things, and spending time with my beloved tribe of people and animals.
